  • Fallingsandgame.com- You pretty much get to play with falling sand. You can also make it explode and sometimes there are zombies. Sounds dumb, but I waste hours doing it.
  • Angryalien.com- Watch bunnies re-enact famous movies in 30 seconds.
  • Smellypoop.com- Everything you wanted to know about poop and farts. It's incredibly juvenille.

 

MUSIC

  • Musicovery.com- A customizable web radio that finds music based on your mood. Suitable for angsty teenagers.
  • Pandora.com- A web radio that only plays the music you like. It reads your mind.
  • Can't find your nerdy music at Amazon? Try Caiman.com or CDconnection.com. Much of the time they are cheaper than Amazon.
  • Muscitheory.net- Great educational site. There are a lot of theory lessons, ear training, a staff paper generator and you can download the whole site for free.
  • rodeby.net- Free sheetmusic in PDF. It's music for church services-there's some good stuff. The music is very small, I don't suggest it if you have bad eyes.
  • Christmascarolmusic.org- Free PDFs of carols. No modern crap. It's all old and public domain.

 

I'M LEARNDING!

  • Howstuffworks.com- Unless you're scared of the physical world, this is great for explaining what's going on.
  • Oculture.com- It says it's a guide to smart media. You'll find all sorts of nerdage that is sure to please.
  • Instructables.com- Contains instructions on how to do a bunch of stuff. Lots of stuff you never knew you wanted to do.
  • Mangolanguages.com- Free learning for 12 languges. Good if you need to know a few phrases. It has a tendency to beat things to death, but it's useful.

 

REFERENCE

  • Pack List- With a little information, you get a giant packing list with everything you'll ever need for a trip.
  • Findsounds.com Do you need a duck sound for your powerpoint presentation to the Board of Ornithology? Look at this site.
  • Sacred-texts.com- A repository of every kind of sacred text imaginable. Even A Rabbi's Impressions of the Oberammergau Passion Play!!!
  • Snopes.com- This is a great website. They follow all urban legends and crazy email chain letters. When you get a suspicious email, look here.

 

OPEN SOURCE

  • Firefox Browser- It's on the homepage, but let me repeat: Internet Explorer really sucks. Please stop using it. Think of the children.
  • Celestia- It's a planetarium and spaceship all in one. Real nerds can also download Star Trek addons.
  • Open Office- It's the alternative to Office Suite. For free software, it's very impressive.

 

SMART CONSUMERY MONEY STUFF

  • Epinions.com- People review all sorts of products. It will help you not buy crap.
  • Infomercialratings.com- I love infomercials, but have discovered the products aren't always good. Check this to see what people say about their purchases.
  • ING Direct- Stop using the savings account at your bank. They screw you. ING savings accounts accrue almost 4% interest monthly. I bet your bank won't do that.

 

AROUND THE HOUSE

  • Vinegartips.com- Vinegar rocks! It cleans everything, it's cheap, I can eat it with no ill effects and it's environmentally friendly.
  • Whenever I need a recipe I go to foodnetwork.com or epicurious.com.
  • Savingdinner.com- This is good if you never know what to make. Every week they email you a weeks worth of menus, recipes and a shopping list.
